Wambaw Creek - SHELL STATION in McClellanville
(10086 North Hwy. 17 at the intersection of Hwy. 45 and Hwy. 17)
From Charleston:
From downtown: Take either Meeting or East Bay Street north until
you come to the large overpass where you’ll get on to the BRIDGE to
Mt. Pleasant….. Once over the bridge, Continue straight in your left
two lanes onto Hwy. 17 North. Go about 45-50 minutes until you come
into the town of McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light there
is a SHELL station on your left at Hwy. 45. Meet your guide here.
From Mt. Pleasant:
Take Hwy. 17 North about 35-40 minutes until you come into the town
of McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light there is a SHELL
station on your left at Hwy. 45. Meet your guide here.
From North Charleston:
Take I-26 to I-526 towards Mt. Pleasant….. continue about 14 miles
and exit onto Hwy. 17 North Georgetown Exit. Turn Left heading
towards Georgetown and Continue straight in your left two lanes onto
Hwy. 17 North. Go about 50-55 minutes until you come into the town
of McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light there is a SHELL
station on your left at Hwy. 45. Meet your guide here.
From the Isle of Palms:
Take IOP connector out to Hwy. 17 and turn RIGHT heading North. In
about 30 minutes until you come into the town of McClellanville. At
the Yellow blinking light there is a SHELL station on your left at
Hwy. 45. Meet your guide here.
From Myrtle Beach:
Take Hwy. 17 South into the Town of McClellanville. . At the Yellow
blinking light there is a SHELL station on your right at Hwy. 45.
Meet your guide here.
From the Buck Hall Recreation Area:
Take a RIGHT onto Hwy. 17 North Towards McClellanville. At the
Yellow blinking light there is a SHELL station on your left at Hwy.
45. Meet your guide here.
Wambaw Creek STILLBOAT LANDING
(GPS N 33.1777 W 79.4971) - Still Landing -
From Charleston:
Take either Meeting or East Bay Street north until you come to the
large overpass where you’ll get on to the BRIDGE to Mt. Pleasant…..
Once over the bridge, Continue straight in your left two lanes onto
Hwy. 17 North. Go about 45-50 minutes until you come into the town
of McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light with the SHELL

for a Francis Marion Wildlife Management area sign on your right. Go
to the next dirt road after this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch
211. Go 3.3 miles down Millbranch and turn LEFT onto Millbranch B or
follow signs to Stillboat Landing. Approx. 50 minutes
From Moncks Corner
Take Hwy. 17A to Hwy.52 and turn LEFT heading "north". Go OVER the
TAIL RACE canal and you'll come to a stop light at hwy. 402. Turn
RIGHT onto Hwy. 402 and go about 15 miles to Hwy. 41. stop sign. Go
over 41 and continue STRAIGHT .... this will turn into STEED CREEK
ROAD. Go about 4-5 miles and turn LEFT onto Halfway Creek road. Take
halfway creek road about 10 miles to a stop sign. Turn RIGHT At this
stop sign onto (French Santee Road), which is actually Hwy.45. Go
about 5 miles and turn LEFT onto FSRD 211 Millbranch (this is a dirt
road). Go 3.3 miles and turn LEFT onto road with signs to Stillboat
Landing.
From Mt. Pleasant:
Take Hwy. 17 North about 40 minutes until you come into the town of
McClellanville. At the Yellow blinking light with the SHELL station
on your left at Hwy. 45, take a LEFT and go 4 miles. Look for a
Francis Marion Wildlife Management area sign on your right. Go to
the next dirt road after this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch
211. Go 3.3 miles down Millbranch and turn LEFT onto Millbranch B or
or follow signs to Stillboat Landing.
From North Charleston:

this sign and turn RIGHT onto Millbranch 211. Go 3.3 miles down
Millbranch and turn LEFT onto Millbranch B or or follow signs to
Stillboat Landing. Approx. 45 – 55 minutes

Millbranch and turn LEFT onto Millbranch B or or follow signs to
Stillboat Landing. Approx. 20 minutes
Wambaw Creek Bridge Landing
(GPS N 33.2073 W 79.4687) - Elmwood Landing
From Charleston:
Take Hwy. 17 North about 45-50 minutes until you come into the town
of McClellanville. You will come to a yellow blinking light at Hwy.
45 and 17.. Continue STRAIGHT on Hwy. 17 North another 7 miles and
turn LEFT onto Rutledge road following signs to Hampton Plantation
State Historic Site. Go PAST the plantation on your right and
continue another 2 miles. The pavement will end and it will turn
into a rock road. Go another ½ mile down the rock road and you will
come to a Bridge. The landing will be on your right. Approx. 50 - 55
minutes
From Myrtle Beach:
Take Hwy.17 South through Georgetown and several miles south of
Georgetown you will cross over the North and South Santee River
Bridges. About ¾ mile past these bridges turn RIGHT onto Rutledge
Road following signs towards Hampton Plantation State Historic Site.
Go PAST the plantation on your right and continue another 2 miles.
The pavement will end and it will turn into a rock road. Go another
½ mile down the rock road and you will come to a Bridge. The landing
will be on your right. Approx. 45-50 minutes
